Official

Its Official, I registered for my first Triathlon today 11global Lake Oconee. I knew I was going to attempt do it but now that I have paid for it it seems a bit more real. I'm SUPER nervous. Did I bite off more than I can chew??? What in the world was I thinking doing an Olympic distance for my first Tri rather than a Sprint Distance??  Ugh, I have this feeling that I will come in last place after everyone has already gone home. I guess that will be okay since I just want to see if I can do it. Its not like I'm looking to break any records but I am so competitive that my little ego would be crushed. Maybe this is how everyone feels before they embark on such an event. How was your first Tri?

  1. Congratulations on taking the "plunge". Welcome to the fraternity and your new part-time job. :-)

  2. You WON'T come in last place! That is awesome that you just went for it and signed up for an Oly. I have done 3 sprints and have two Oly's this year. Make sure you have FUN at your first race. Triathlons can get really overwhelming so just focus on having fun :)

  3. I love the challenge! Heck with the Sprint. Anyone who can swim, bike, and run, can do a sprint. That's what they say at least.

You'll do great in the Oly! My first Oly was what hooked me to the sport. Just go out there, push yourself where you want to, and most of all, HAVE FUN! Can't wait to see the race report where you tell us "That was so f'n awesome!!" haha

  6. You can already run, you've got the battle won! I started tri as a swimmer. I come out of the water in the top 10%.
End up in the top 40% after the bike.
And then come last in the run. Trust me, there will be someone like me to come last ;)

    HAVE A BALL!!

  7. You will not be last, I know that! If I were the betting type, my money is on you to not finish last. You will be hooked when all is said and done.
