So needless to say I waited a couple of days before I got up the nerve to try it on. I was a little worried about how it was going to fit because at 5'8 I find it hard sometimes to find shirts that will cover my tummy area since my torso is rather long. And lets be honest who wants to run a race with the uncomfortable
I could not get over how small I looked in this suit. |
Let me be the first to point out I know NOTHING about how the suit should feel or what to look for in a good suit. I just know I like anything that that is comfortable and does a good job of keeping me cool and drys fast. The first thing I noticed was how well the suit fit. I mean it was perfect. It is like putting on a new layer of skin. Its so light I kept looking down to make sure I had something on.
I got on my bike and did a nice 18 miles with no pain. The padding is hardly noticeable by looking at the suit but does the job on the bike! The legs did not pull up at all while on the ride but I have found all my Perl Izumi shorts stay in place.
I then took of for what was going to be a 6 mile run but it was cut in 1/2 because my running partner (my lab Blue) was attacked and bitten by a dog. I continued to look down to make sure I had something on. This suit is so light and form fitting you can't even tell your covered. Needless to say I did not have any issues with the suit rubbing or giving me a wedgie! Since the run part was done in temps near 85 I took the shoulder straps down for the last mile and just ran with the sports bra that is provided with the suit. Even with the straps down I did not feel them flapping in the wind like you would expect from a

That's awesome!!! I'm glad you found something comfy to compete in! Nice abs!
ReplyDeleteembrace the unitard. They are the best for racing!
ReplyDeleteI love the tri suit. It looks fast and ...you wear it well! But let's back up. Your dog got bit by another dog? WTH? Is Blue ok? Where was this other dog's owner?
ReplyDeleteI hope you kicked the dog that bit him :(
ReplyDeleteBut, the suit looks awesome... being about twice your size, mine looks nowhere near THAT awesome, lol.
No fashion statement, but super comfortable right!
Nice. I really like the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe suit looks great! I'm jealous too; I definitely need one of those!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Kc- Blue is okay I was able to pull him just in time to where he only lost a little fur thus no skin was broken. He was done after that though and tucked his tail and turned to go home. I felt bad for him. The owner lets his two dogs run around all the time. I wrote him a letter and explained what happened and what would happen next time. Needless to say he drove by my house saw my police car and called to let me know he was going to take care of it ASAP. I have not seen the dogs since. =)
ReplyDeleteThe suit looks great - glad that it worked so well for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd so glad that Blue is alright. Scary! Looks like the cops did the trick in teaching the neighbor a lesson! :)
I'm glad Blue is ok! And Summ you are rockin te tri suit! You should send your post in as a review for the suit, I'm sure Pearl/Izumi would love it! WE are looking forward to rooting for you here! Georgia wants you to show her some of your daily workouts. She's nervous about running a mile for her Presedential Challenge at school on Tuesday. Remeber those days? She's been playing soccer and taking gymnastics. She's really looking forward to seeing you :) and Nico too :)
ReplyDeleteand of course all the rest of us!! ;)
Glad you got a suit that you love! I am still waiting for my new 2xu suit to come in (waiting for the screen printing to get done) and I am kinda nervous because I have not worn 2xu before. One piece suits are great for sprint and oly-distance races. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGirl you are jacked! Lookin' good in the tri suit. I'm 5'8" and have a long torso too! I HATE when shirts aren't long enough.
ReplyDeleteIn college I was a rower so I know all too well about the un-flattering "uni"
Good luck in the race!

ReplyDeleteLove the suit - so glad you reviewed it, that is the one I have my eye one to buy! Good luck in your tri :)
